Attending to Ghosts and to Rural Imaginations: Practicing Cultural Analysis

Esther PEEREN is Professor of Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam. She is also the Academic Director of the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis in the Netherlands. Esther’s research focuses on the processes of marginalization and questions of agency, on the underilluminated impact of globalization on rural areas, and on the changing relationship between centers and peripheries (with Hanneke STUIT, she coordinates the ASCA research group The Peripheries Project).
